Choose the update source
The correct source depends on where the product is distributed and how its license is managed.
WordPress.org products
Free product updates published through WordPress.org appear through the WordPress update system and the applicable directory listing.
Marketplace products
ThemeForest, CodeCanyon and other marketplace product updates use the applicable marketplace item, download and account workflow.
Direct premium software
When a direct premium product uses an external licensing and checkout platform, update notices, licenses, billing and downloads may be handled through that platform or the purchase email. The WooCommerce My Account page is not presented as the universal account for every direct product.
