Check your hosting environment

  1. Use Tools → Site Health → Info to collect your real WordPress, PHP and server configuration.
  2. Use a PHP version supported by your installed WordPress and plugin versions (Washlora needs PHP 8.0 or newer). Test upgrades on staging.
  3. For large imports or editor sessions, ask your host for 256 MB or more of PHP memory and an execution allowance of around 300 seconds.
  4. Set upload_max_filesize and post_max_size above the actual ZIP size, and confirm there is enough disk space for media imports.
  5. Confirm HTTPS, image processing, ZIP extraction and outbound download support with your host.
  6. Keep a host-level error log available when you diagnose timeouts, and do not display PHP errors to visitors.

Troubleshooting by symptom

Start with the layer responsible for the problem, then change one thing at a time.
