ABOUT THE ACADEMY

A swim school built on clarity, confidence and useful progress.

We combine water-safety standards, level-aware coaching and practical feedback for children, adults, fitness swimmers and developing athletes.

OUR APPROACH

Swimmers should understand what they are practising and why.

Sessions use clear demonstrations, suitable depth, short practice sets and one technical priority at a time. Progress is not measured by distance alone.

  • Confidence before unsupported tasks
  • Technique before unnecessary volume
  • Age and experience appropriate language
  • Clear lane and supervision rules
  • Optional performance and open-water pathways

ACADEMY STANDARDS

Four standards guide every session.

S

Safety

Depth, supervision, equipment and swimmer readiness are checked first.

C

Clarity

Coaches explain the task, purpose and safe stopping point.

P

Progression

Skills move from supported practice to independent repeatable use.

R

Respect

Different confidence levels, goals and learning speeds are recognised.

COACH DEVELOPMENT

Good coaching is more than knowing the strokes.

Instructors need technical knowledge, observation skills, communication, safeguarding awareness and the judgement to change a task when confidence or fatigue changes.

HOW PROGRESS WORKS

Placement, practice, review and next step.

01

Assess

Review confidence, breathing, movement and the swimmer’s goal.

02

Place

Choose a lane, depth and group that match current ability.

03

Practise

Use short focused sets with suitable rest and feedback.

04

Review

Confirm progress and the next technical or confidence priority.

ACADEMY QUESTIONS

Know the standards before joining.

Policies for supervision, parent information, lane placement and open-water work should be clear before enrolment.

Do beginners train in deep water?

Only when confidence, skill and supervision make that appropriate. First placement is level based.

Is competition required?

No. Recreational, safety, fitness and performance goals can follow separate paths.

How are children grouped?

Age matters, but confidence, skill, instruction-following and supervision needs also affect placement.

Can a swimmer move groups?

Yes, after a coach reviews the skills and confidence needed for the next lane.
