The ThemeForest download contains the installable theme, this documentation and the licence files. The file you upload to WordPress is the theme zip inside it.
From the WordPress admin
- Unzip the ThemeForest download on your computer.
- Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.
- Choose
nexolume.zipand select Install Now. - Select Activate.

Required plugins
After activation a notice lists the plugins the theme works with. Install the ones your demo needs — not all of them.

Importing a demo
- Install and activate the builder you intend to use.
- Go to Appearance → Import Demo Data.
- Pick the builder at the top — Gutenberg, Elementor, WPBakery or Classic Editor.
- Find your niche and select Import Demo.
- Let it finish. Do not close or reload the tab.
- Open Settings → Permalinks and save once.
After the import
- Settings → Reading — confirm the homepage and posts page.
- Appearance → Menus — confirm the primary menu is assigned.
- Open the homepage on desktop and mobile and check the hero area.
Page builders
Every demo ships for four editing workflows. The content is the same; the editing experience differs.

Choose the builder before importing. Switching later means re-importing that builder's variant.
Nexolume AI Builder
The AI Builder composes complete page structures — pages, menu, theme settings and placeholder copy — from a short description.
It works with no API key
The builder ships with a local engine that runs entirely on your own server: no key, no account, no external service, and nothing leaves the site. This is the default and it is a complete mode, not a trial.
Using it
- Go to AI Builder → Website Composer.
- Describe the site, and pick a builder, design scheme and typography pair.
- Select Create plan and review the structure.
- Select Build to generate the pages as drafts.
- Preview, then Publish — or Roll back to remove everything that run created.
Optional: your own API key
An OpenAI or Gemini key can be added under AI Builder → Settings. It changes how the placeholder copy is written; every other feature behaves identically. The key is stored encrypted in your own database and sent only to the provider you choose. Selecting a cloud provider without saving its key falls back to the local engine rather than failing.
Nexolume Design Studio
The Design Studio changes the visual direction of the whole site — colour, typography, header, footer, page and menu layout — without touching your content or rebuilding pages. Find it in the admin sidebar under Nexolume Design.

Sidebar presets and Niche Presets sit alongside them. A niche preset is a ready-made combination of colour, typography and layout tuned for one industry, so a single choice sets a coherent direction.
How to use it
- Open Nexolume Design in the admin sidebar.
- Pick a colour scheme, typography set and the header, footer, page and menu layouts you want.
- Preview the direction.
- Save. The change applies across the site immediately.
Design Studio and custom CSS
Custom CSS added under Appearance → Customise → Additional CSS loads after the Design Studio styles, so your own rules win. The Studio needs no API key and makes no external requests.
Theme Assistant
The assistant answers questions about this theme from inside the admin. Like the builder, it runs locally and needs no API key.
What it does
- Answers setup, import and configuration questions from this documentation.
- Reports live state — active builder, installed plugins, menu assignments.
- Applies small, safe customisations such as colours and spacing.
- Accepts a screenshot when a local vision model is installed.
What it will not do
- Answer questions unrelated to the active AdnanThemes theme.
- Invent settings, file paths or option names.
- Write PHP or edit template files.
Use Rebuild Knowledge on the assistant screen after adding or editing documentation so its index picks up the change.
Menus
- Go to Appearance → Menus.
- Select the menu the demo created, or create one.
- Add pages, then assign it to Primary under Menu Settings.
Dropdowns and mega menus
Drag an item slightly right, under its parent, to make it a sub-item. Dropdowns open on hover on desktop and on tap on touch devices.
Headers & footers
Each niche uses one of several header structures. Light and dark headers pick their own link colours, so text stays readable either way. For a different structure entirely, use the Design Studio.

For a whole new direction use the Design Studio. For a single tweak, the theme is driven by CSS custom properties:

Sliders
Demos use Slider Revolution, Smart Slider 3, Master Slider or the theme's own hero, depending on the niche.
- Install the slider plugin the demo lists before importing.
- Import the demo — sliders come with it.
- Edit slides in that plugin's own screen.
Widgets & sidebars
Under Appearance → Widgets you will find the blog sidebar, the main sidebar and the footer areas. Empty widget areas collapse rather than leaving gaps.
WooCommerce & EDD
- Install and activate WooCommerce (or Easy Digital Downloads).
- Run its setup wizard.
- Import a shop demo, or add products to an existing site.
Shop, cart, checkout and account pages are styled by the theme. A store can run WooCommerce for physical goods and EDD for digital downloads at the same time.
bbPress & BuddyPress
- bbPress — create a forum and its pages render inside the theme layout automatically.
- BuddyPress — enable the components you want under Settings → BuddyPress → Components, then check its directory pages under the Pages tab.
/activity/ returns 404, the Activity component is simply switched off.RTL & translation
RTL stylesheets load automatically for RTL site languages, set under Settings → General. For translation use Loco Translate, Poedit, WPML or Polylang with the text domain nexolume.
Troubleshooting
The demo import stops or times out
Raise max_execution_time to 300 and memory_limit to 512M, then import again.
The homepage shows a list of posts
Settings → Reading → set Your homepage displays to a static page and pick the imported home page.
Pages return 404 after importing
Open Settings → Permalinks and select Save.
Menus are empty
Appearance → Menus → Menu Settings → tick Primary, then save.
Styling changes do not appear
Clear the caching plugin and the server cache, then hard refresh with Ctrl+Shift+R. Server-side page caches keep serving old HTML until purged.
The site breaks after a plugin update
Deactivate plugins one at a time to find the conflict. If the theme seems involved, switch to a default theme briefly to confirm.
Home page setup
A demo import sets the home page for you. These steps are for building one yourself, or for repairing a site where the front page shows the wrong thing.
Point WordPress at a page
- Create a page named Home (Pages → Add New), and a second named Blog if you want a posts page.
- Go to Settings → Reading.
- Set Your homepage displays to A static page.
- Choose Home as the homepage and Blog as the posts page.
- Save.
Build the page
Open the Home page and build it with whichever editor you chose — Gutenberg, Elementor, WPBakery or the Classic Editor. The theme applies its full-width layout to the front page automatically, so no page template needs selecting.
Faster routes
- Import a demo — the quickest path; the home page arrives finished.
- AI Builder — describe the site and it composes a home page and the pages around it.
- Design Studio — keep the content, change the visual direction.
Menu and hero
Assign your menu under Appearance → Menus → Menu Settings → Primary. If the home page uses a slider, install that slider plugin before importing so the hero arrives with its slides.
The theme prepares your pages for Facebook sharing and links your profiles. It does not load the Facebook SDK, and it sets no tracking pixel, so nothing is sent to Facebook unless you add that yourself.
Share previews (Open Graph)
Every page carries Open Graph tags — og:title, og:description, og:type, og:url — plus a Twitter card tag. When someone shares a link on Facebook, the title and description come from these, so posts appear with a proper preview rather than a bare URL.
Profile links
Social icons are part of the header and footer, and each niche ships with the networks that suit it. Set your addresses under Appearance → Customise; empty ones are simply not rendered.
Adding a page plugin or pixel
If you want a Facebook feed, a like box or Meta Pixel tracking, add the official Facebook plugin or paste the snippet Meta gives you. Doing it this way keeps the choice — and the privacy implications — with you rather than the theme.
SEO
The theme covers the technical groundwork, so an SEO plugin has a clean base to build on.

Alt text
Alt text describes an image to search engines and to anyone using a screen reader. Every image in the demo content ships with alt text already written, so an imported site starts out accessible instead of needing a clean-up pass.
For your own uploads: Media → Library, select an image, and fill in Alternative Text. Describe what the image shows — "Technician servicing a rooftop air conditioner" rather than "image1". Leave it empty only when the image is purely decorative; an empty alt is correct there, and better than a filler description.
Using an SEO plugin
Yoast, Rank Math and SEO Framework all work. They take over titles, descriptions and social tags; the theme steps aside rather than competing, so you will not end up with two of each tag.
Worth doing after launch
- Set Settings → Permalinks to Post name.
- Submit your sitemap in Google Search Console.
- Check Settings → Reading — Discourage search engines must be unticked on a live site.
- Serve the site over HTTPS.

FAQ
Getting started
What do I need to run this theme?
WordPress 6.5 or newer, PHP 8.1 or newer, and MySQL 5.7 / MariaDB 10.3 or newer. A PHP memory limit of 256M is the minimum; 512M is recommended for demo imports.
How do I install the theme?
Unzip the ThemeForest download, then go to Appearance, Themes, Add New, Upload Theme and choose nexolume.zip. Install it and select Activate.
Why does WordPress say the stylesheet is missing?
You uploaded the full ThemeForest download instead of the theme zip inside it. Unzip the download first and upload nexolume.zip only.
Can I install the theme over FTP?
Yes. Unzip nexolume.zip and upload the nexolume folder to /wp-content/themes/, then activate it under Appearance, Themes.
Is a child theme included?
Yes. Install and activate the child theme if you plan to edit template files, so your changes survive theme updates.
What is the text domain for translation?
The text domain is nexolume. Use it when loading translations in Loco Translate, Poedit, WPML or Polylang.
Where is the documentation?
Open documentation/index.html inside the theme folder, or reach the same pages from the Theme Assistant in the WordPress admin.
Plugins
Which plugins do I actually need?
Only the Nexolume Demo Installer is required. Everything else depends on the demo you pick: Elementor, WPBakery or Classic Editor for those builders, a slider plugin for hero sliders, WooCommerce or EDD for shops, and Contact Form 7 for forms.
Do I need a plugin for Gutenberg?
No. Gutenberg is part of WordPress. If you only use Gutenberg demos you can skip Elementor, WPBakery and Classic Editor entirely.
Is WPBakery included with the theme?
Yes, WPBakery Page Builder is bundled. Install it from the plugin notice after activating the theme.
Why does a plugin keep asking to update?
That happens when a bundled plugin's version header does not match the packaged version. Deactivate it, delete it, then install it again from the theme's plugin notice.
Can I use other plugins with this theme?
Yes. The theme uses standard WordPress structures, so most plugins work. Support covers the theme itself, not third-party plugin behaviour.
Demo import
How do I import a demo?
Activate the builder you want first, then go to Appearance, Import Demo Data, pick the builder at the top, choose your niche and select Import Demo. Save Settings, Permalinks once when it finishes.
The demo import stops or times out.
Raise max_execution_time to 300 and memory_limit to 512M, then import again. On shared hosting ask your host to raise them for you.
Can I import more than one demo?
It is not supported. Each demo brings its own pages, menus and options, so combining them leaves conflicts. Use one demo per site, or a fresh install to try another.
How do I remove a demo I imported?
There is no clean uninstall. Start from a fresh WordPress install or restore a backup taken before the import.
Pages return 404 after importing.
Open Settings, Permalinks and select Save. That rebuilds the rewrite rules and fixes the 404s.
The homepage shows blog posts instead of the demo page.
Go to Settings, Reading, set Your homepage displays to a static page, and choose the imported home page.
Are the demo images included?
No. Demo photography is licensed for the preview site only and cannot be redistributed. Imports bring in placeholders that you replace with your own media.
How long does an import take?
Usually two to ten minutes depending on the demo and your hosting. Do not close or reload the tab while it runs.
Can I import a demo onto an existing site with content?
You can, but the demo will add its own pages, menus and settings alongside yours. Test it on a staging copy first.
Builders
Which page builders are supported?
Gutenberg, Elementor, WPBakery Page Builder and the Classic Editor. Every demo is available in all four.
Which builder should I choose?
Gutenberg for the fastest front end and no extra plugin, Elementor for visual drag and drop, WPBakery if your team already uses it, and Classic Editor for simple text-led sites.
Can I switch builder after importing?
Existing pages stay in the builder that made them. To move, import that builder's variant of the demo on a clean install.
Do I have to pick the builder before importing?
Yes. Select the builder at the top of the import screen before you import, because each demo ships a separate variant per builder.
Is Elementor Pro required?
No. The demos are built with the free Elementor plugin.
AI Builder
Do I need an API key to use the AI Builder?
No. The local engine is the default and does everything without a key, an account or any external service. A key is optional and only changes how placeholder copy is written.
Does the AI Builder send my data anywhere?
No. The local engine runs entirely on your own server. Nothing leaves the site unless you deliberately add your own cloud API key.
How do I generate a site with the AI Builder?
Go to AI Builder, Website Composer, describe the site, pick a builder, design scheme and typography, select Create plan, review it, then select Build.
How do I roll back a generated site?
Every run is snapshotted. Select Roll back on the Website Composer screen to delete the pages, forms and sliders that run created. Anything you edited by hand is left alone.
Where do I add my own API key?
Under AI Builder, Settings. Pick OpenAI or Gemini, paste the key, and save. It is stored encrypted in your own database and sent only to that provider.
What happens if I pick a cloud provider but do not add a key?
The builder quietly falls back to the local engine instead of failing, so generation keeps working.
Does the AI Builder publish pages straight away?
No. It creates drafts. Preview them, then select Publish when you are happy, or Roll back to discard.
Can the AI Builder use a specific builder?
Yes. Choose Gutenberg, Elementor, WPBakery or Classic Editor before you create the plan, and the output is generated for that builder.
Assistant
What can the Theme Assistant do?
It answers setup and configuration questions from the documentation, reports live state such as the active builder and plugins, and applies small safe customisations like colours and spacing.
Does the assistant need an API key?
No. It answers from the local documentation index and needs no key and no internet connection.
Can the assistant edit my code?
No. It applies small presets such as colours and spacing. It does not write PHP or modify template files.
The assistant cannot find an answer.
Select Rebuild Knowledge on the assistant screen. That re-indexes the documentation, which is needed after you add or edit any docs.
Why does the assistant refuse some questions?
It is scoped to the active AdnanThemes theme on purpose, so it will not answer unrelated WordPress or third-party plugin questions.
Menus
How do I create a menu?
Go to Appearance, Menus, create a menu, add your pages, then tick Primary under Menu Settings and save.
My menu is empty after importing.
The menu exists but is not assigned. Go to Appearance, Menus, Menu Settings, tick Primary, and save.
How do I make a dropdown menu?
In Appearance, Menus, drag an item slightly to the right under its parent. It becomes a sub-item and opens as a dropdown.
My menu labels overlap the logo.
The labels are too long for the header. Keep top-level labels short: a menu whose labels total more than about 90 characters will wrap or overlap. Use Services rather than Our Professional Services.
Do dropdowns work on mobile?
Yes. Dropdowns open on hover on desktop and on tap on touch devices.
How do I add a mega menu?
Mega menu layouts come from the demo you import. Add or remove the items inside that menu under Appearance, Menus.
Header and footer
How do I make the header dark?
Add CSS under Appearance, Customise, Additional CSS: .op-site-header{background:#111827!important} and .op-site-header .op-nav>ul>li>a{color:#fff!important}
My menu text is unreadable on the header.
Header tone follows the niche design signature and link colours follow it. If you changed the header background yourself, set the link colour to match using Additional CSS.
How do I turn off the sticky header?
Add .op-site-header{position:static!important} under Appearance, Customise, Additional CSS.
How do I change the logo?
Go to Appearance, Customise, Site Identity and upload your logo there.
How do I edit the footer?
Footer areas are widget areas. Edit them under Appearance, Widgets.
Can I use a different header layout?
Header structure comes from the imported demo's design signature. To change it, import a demo that uses the layout you want, or override the header with Additional CSS.
Design
How do I change the accent colour?
Add this under Appearance, Customise, Additional CSS: :root{--op-accent:#315efb;} Replace the value with your colour. The whole site follows it.
How do I change fonts?
Typography is driven by CSS variables. Override them under Appearance, Customise, Additional CSS, or use a font plugin for Google Fonts.
Where do I add custom CSS?
Appearance, Customise, Additional CSS. Changes there survive theme updates, unlike edits to theme files.
Do the editor colours match the front end?
Yes. The palette is declared in theme.json, so the block editor shows the same colours the front end uses.
How do I change the body text colour?
Override the variable: :root{--op-ink:#0f172a;} under Appearance, Customise, Additional CSS.
Sliders
Which slider plugins are supported?
Slider Revolution, Smart Slider 3 and Master Slider, plus the theme's own hero. Which one a demo uses depends on the niche.
My hero area is empty after importing.
The slider plugin that demo uses was not active when you imported. Activate it, then import that demo again on a clean install.
How do I edit slides?
Slides are stored by the slider plugin. Open that plugin's own screen in the admin and edit the slider there.
Can I use a video background in the hero?
Yes, if the slider plugin the demo uses supports video slides. Configure it inside that plugin.
WooCommerce
Does the theme work with WooCommerce?
Yes. Install and activate WooCommerce, run its setup wizard, then import a shop demo or add products to your existing site.
Does it support Easy Digital Downloads?
Yes. EDD is supported for digital products, and a store can run WooCommerce and EDD side by side.
Are shop pages styled by the theme?
Yes. Shop, cart, checkout and account pages all follow the theme styling.
How do I change the number of products per row?
Set it under Appearance, Customise, WooCommerce, Product Catalog.
My shop page shows nothing.
Check Settings, Reading and WooCommerce, Settings, Products that the Shop page is assigned, and confirm you have published products.
Community
Does the theme support bbPress?
Yes. Install and activate bbPress, create a forum, and its pages render inside the theme layout automatically.
Does the theme support BuddyPress?
Yes. Install BuddyPress, then enable the components you want under Settings, BuddyPress, Components.
BuddyPress activity page returns 404.
A fresh BuddyPress install does not enable every component. Enable Activity under Settings, BuddyPress, Components, then check its directory pages exist under the Pages tab.
Blog
How do I set up the blog page?
Create a page for posts, then assign it under Settings, Reading as the Posts page.
How do I add a sidebar to the blog?
Add widgets to the blog sidebar under Appearance, Widgets. An empty widget area simply collapses.
How do I show related posts?
Use a related posts plugin. The theme does not bundle one so you can choose the behaviour you prefer.
Can I turn comments off?
Yes. Settings, Discussion controls it site wide, and each post has its own Discussion panel.
Widgets
Which widget areas does the theme have?
A blog sidebar, a main sidebar and the footer areas. They appear under Appearance, Widgets.
An empty widget area leaves a gap.
It should not. Empty widget areas collapse. If you see a gap, a widget is present but rendering nothing, such as a tag cloud with no tags.
Forms
How do I edit the contact form?
Forms come from Contact Form 7. Edit them under Contact, Contact Forms, then place the shortcode on your page.
Form emails are not arriving.
That is a mail delivery issue, not a theme one. Install an SMTP plugin and configure it with your mail provider.
RTL and language
Is the theme RTL ready?
Yes. RTL stylesheets load automatically when the site language is an RTL language, set under Settings, General.
Is the theme translation ready?
Yes. Use Loco Translate, Poedit, WPML or Polylang with the text domain nexolume.
Can I run a multilingual site?
Yes, with WPML or Polylang. Set the languages up in that plugin after importing your demo.
Performance
How do I make the site faster?
Use a caching plugin, serve images in modern formats, and keep only the plugins you actually use. Gutenberg demos load the least front-end code.
My changes do not appear on the site.
Clear your caching plugin and your server cache, then hard refresh with Ctrl+Shift+R. Server-side page caches keep serving old HTML until purged.
Does the theme load a lot of scripts?
Only what the active demo needs. Builder scripts load only when that builder is in use, and slider scripts only where a slider exists.
SEO
Is the theme SEO friendly?
Yes. It uses semantic markup, proper heading order and clean templates. Pair it with an SEO plugin such as Yoast or Rank Math for meta control.
Does the theme add Open Graph tags?
Yes, on singular pages. If an SEO plugin is active, the theme steps aside and lets the plugin handle them so you never get duplicates.
How do I change the social share image?
Set the featured image on the page, or control it with your SEO plugin if one is active.
Troubleshooting
The site breaks after a plugin update.
Deactivate plugins one at a time to find the conflict. If the theme seems involved, switch to a default theme briefly to confirm.
I see a PHP error on the site.
Note the file and line in the message, deactivate the plugin or theme it names, and report it with your PHP and WordPress versions.
Images look broken or missing.
Regenerate thumbnails with a plugin such as Regenerate Thumbnails, and confirm the files exist in the media library.
The layout looks wrong on mobile.
Clear any caching plugin, then check whether custom CSS you added uses fixed widths. The theme itself is responsive down to small screens.
The admin is very slow.
Deactivate heavy plugins to identify the cause and raise the PHP memory limit to 512M. Demo imports and builders both benefit from more memory.
I cannot save a page in the builder.
Raise max_input_vars to 5000 and memory_limit to 512M. Large builder pages exceed the defaults on many hosts.
Updates
How do I update the theme?
Download the latest version from your ThemeForest downloads, then upload it over the existing theme or replace the folder over FTP.
Will an update delete my content?
No. Content, menus and settings are stored in the database and are unaffected. Direct edits to theme files are lost, which is why a child theme is recommended.
Do I have to update?
Not immediately, but updates carry security fixes and compatibility work for new WordPress versions. Test on staging first if the site is busy.
Licence
How many sites can I use one licence on?
A Regular Licence from ThemeForest covers one end product. Each additional site needs its own licence.
Can I use the theme for a client project?
Yes. A Regular Licence covers a client site where the end user is not charged. Charging users for access requires an Extended Licence.
Can I redistribute the demo images?
No. Demo photography is licensed for the preview site only and is not included in the download for redistribution.
Support
What does support cover?
Theme features, bugs and setup questions. It does not cover third-party plugins, custom development or server administration.
How do I report a problem?
Open a ticket through your ThemeForest purchase and include your WordPress version, PHP version, active builder and the exact steps that reproduce the problem.
How long does support last?
ThemeForest includes six months of support with a purchase, and it can be extended at checkout or afterwards from your downloads page.
Can you customise the theme for me?
Custom development is outside support. Ask about it separately as a paid customisation.
Design Studio
What is the Nexolume Design Studio?
A design system built into the admin. It changes the visual direction of the whole site — colours, fonts, header, footer, page and menu layout — without touching your content or rebuilding pages.
Where do I find the Design Studio?
In the WordPress admin sidebar under Nexolume Design. The Niche Presets screen sits under it as a submenu.
How many design options are there?
Six groups of 250 each: colour schemes, typography sets, header layouts, footer layouts, page layouts and menu layouts, plus sidebar presets and niche presets.
Does changing the design affect my content?
No. The Design Studio applies presentation classes to the site; pages, posts, menus and media are untouched. Switch direction as often as you like.
Can I preview a design before applying it?
Yes. Pick a direction and preview it first, then save when you are happy with it.
What are Niche Presets?
Ready-made combinations of colour, typography and layout tuned for a particular industry, so one click sets a coherent direction instead of choosing each part yourself.
Does the Design Studio work with any demo?
Yes. It sits on top of whichever demo you imported, so you can keep the demo content and change its visual direction.
How do I undo a design change?
Select a different option and save again. Because only presentation settings change, there is nothing to restore and no content risk.
Can I still use custom CSS with the Design Studio?
Yes. Add your CSS under Appearance, Customise, Additional CSS. It loads after the Design Studio styles, so your rules win.
Does the Design Studio need an API key or internet?
No. It runs entirely on your own site with no external service and no key.
