Sport should not depend on what your parents earn.
We fund coaching, kit and transport so children in low-income areas can join organised sport. Every public donation reaches the programmes; our running costs are covered by a separate grant.
- 2014
Started with one football session
A volunteer coach, twenty children and a borrowed set of bibs on a Bolton park pitch.
- 2016
Registered as a charity
Formal governance, a board of trustees and the first funded coaching posts.
- 2019
Transport became the focus
Attendance data showed travel, not interest, was the biggest barrier. Minibus routes were added.
- 2022
Kit bank opened
Donated and new kit distributed so no child is turned away for not having boots.
- Today
Six programmes, four towns
Around 1,400 children taking part each year across football, athletics, swimming and basketball.
Published in full, every year.
Fund the barrier, not the idea.
We do not run sessions ourselves. We fund the clubs that already exist and remove the specific thing stopping a child attending, which is usually cost, kit or a lift.
- Partner clubs deliver, we fund and monitor
- Attendance tracked termly, published annually
- Running costs paid by a separate restricted grant
- Trustee board meets quarterly, minutes published
- IdentifyWork with schools and clubs to find who is missing out.
- FundCover the coaching, kit or transport that is the barrier.
- MeasureTrack attendance for a full year, then publish it.
What the funding actually buys.
Coaching hours, a bag of kit and a seat on a minibus. Nothing more complicated than that.
