Four coaches, all of whom train here themselves.
Every one of them holds a current CrossFit Level 1 or higher plus first aid. Three came up through our own Foundations course before they ever coached a class.

Dan Whitfield
Head coach
Opened the box in 2014. Writes the programme, runs the strength cycles and still takes the 6am class most mornings.
- Level 3
- Programming
- Barbell

Priya Kaur
Coach, gymnastics
Ex-competitive gymnast. Runs the skill sessions and is the reason half the room can now do a strict pull-up.
- Level 2
- Gymnastics
- Mobility

Marcus Bell
Coach, Foundations
Takes almost every on-ramp course. Joined as a member in 2017 who could not squat to depth.
- Level 2
- Foundations
- Beginners

Sofia Rahman
Coach, conditioning
Handles the engine work and the masters group, and coaches the members who are training for a first competition.
- Level 2
- Conditioning
- Masters
Coaching, not counting reps.
A coach who spends the workout shouting numbers is not coaching. Ours are watching movement and stepping in when it breaks down, which is why classes are capped at fourteen.
- One coach per fourteen members
- Every coach holds current first aid
- Movement faults corrected during the workout
- One-to-one sessions available outside class hours
- BeforeCoach checks who is new and what is carrying an injury.
- DuringScaling adjusted mid-workout if something looks wrong.
- AfterA word with anyone who needs it, not a group speech.
About the coaches — The WOD
What qualifications do they hold?
CrossFit Level 1 minimum, most at Level 2, plus current first aid. Certificates are on the wall by the office.
Can I book one to one?
Yes, outside class hours. Useful if you want to work on a specific lift.
Will the same coach take my class?
Usually. The morning and evening slots have regular coaches so they get to know you.
