- What is included
- Discuss packing after suitability and condition are reviewed.
- Before collection
- Describe the quilt's age, fibres and known repairs, including weak seams or dyes that may behave differently. Photographs help explain condition, but the piece may still need a close assessment before any work is agreed.
- Care limitations
- Can a handmade quilt be treated like modern bedding?
Not automatically. Mixed fabrics, old threads and historic repairs can set different limits, so the quilt should be assessed as an individual piece.
