The magazine

Independent sports writing since 2012.

No wire copy, no rewritten press releases. Every piece here is reported or written by someone on the masthead, and corrections are published in full.

  1. 2012

    Started as a weekly newsletter

Two writers, one email a week, about four hundred readers.

  2. 2015

    Moved to daily publishing

A small newsroom and the first paid subscriptions.

  3. 2018

    Long-form features launched

Monthly reported pieces, some taking six weeks to research.

  4. 2022

    Reader-funded model

Advertising dropped in favour of subscriptions, so coverage answers to readers.

  5. Today

    Nine writers, five sports

Daily news, weekly analysis and a monthly long read.

How we work

Reported, edited, corrected.

Every article passes an editor before publication. When we get something wrong we correct it at the top of the piece and say what changed.

  • No sponsored content or affiliate links
  • Sources named unless there is a clear reason not to
  • Corrections published openly, not quietly edited
  • Funded by readers, not advertisers
  1. ReportInterviews, data and documents gathered first.
  2. EditA second pair of eyes on structure, fairness and accuracy.
  3. PublishWith byline, date and a correction log if needed.
